Earthquake, tsunami, storms and cyclone. Add in your list the terrorist attack and even war. This is not fictional. You would not know when will be this catastrophe occur but surely it will. That is why, right now, you must prepare yourself.

Nobody knows when it will last. It can be for a day, week and even for a month. The impact and damage can affect the rehabilitation period. Not to mention the ability of your government to address this issue. When things turn as a game for surviving the grid going down, you must play your part to win.

The sight of your property tearing from floods and earthquake. Chances that dead body are scattered on the ground. You might not be seeing some zombie people but surely, the spirit of your community will turn into such after witnessing the devastating catastrophe.

Hospitals will be inaccessible. Roads are blocked, Houses had been torn apart. Cries can be heard from left to right. You will be lucky to survive from the calamity but honestly, you will face many challenges after it. Pray that it would not take place during winter. Nobody can surely survive long without getting a good source of heat.

Imagine the picture that will take place in your surrounding. There would be loathing. There will be death. Starvation is present. To lessen your burden, while still early, here are the things you must do.

Maintaining a generator. Not all people can have a camper that they can use for the electric source. Therefore, buying your own generator will be really helpful. This can prove useful especially for keeping you warm. But before you start to install it, you shall check first if your wires are safe to use especially when it get in contact with water.

Food and water source. Make it a habit to always stock emergency food and water in every grocery shopping you make. It must be stored into an area of the house where water cannot infiltrate it. You cannot say that every week accidents can happen so to keep it edible, have it replaced every month. Store only foods that can be consumed even without water specifically can goods.

Prepare a medicine kit. Due to the scattered and flying debris, there is a great chance that someone from your family will get hurt. Hence, you need to have antibiotics to prevent any infection. Furthermore, always consider to include aspirin and paracetamol in your kit. With the poor temperature and ventilation, expect that your children will be exposed to fever.

Keeping supply from another power source. Battery and generator. Make sure that you have either of those things. You will be needing it for your flashlight, radio and communication devices. It will be a good heat source too.
