The Way To Explore The Rich Cozumel Fishing Grounds

By Carol Cooper

Thrill, adrenaline rush are other names for deep sea fishing. Imagine being in a fair distance from the coast and excursion in waters 30 feet or deeper for some tuna, marlins, sharks and swordfish. Isn't that exciting? It could easily feature as one of those 100 things to do in life before dying. Deep sea fishing or not, fishing safety is something you can't just ignore. Let us now take a look at Cozumel Fishing trip.

When you think of Cozumel you might wonder what might be the riches of such a country, the minerals in the ground are the riches. But while this may be true when it comes to generating money for the country.

Even if you are looking for nothing, you will surely find something amazing and unique. Despite the hardships this country has suffered though, the people are always looking for a reason to party or find other reasons to enjoy their lives. So here you will find that these people are open and most willing to offer you any and all assistance that you require.

The waters are some of the most popular in the country, and deep sea fishing is good here. Starting from beach, a local guide should be able to show you the good spots if you're looking for a great day out.

You may also encounter the slightly smaller but no less valued black marlin during your day on the waves. As a keen fishermen you will no doubt be aware of the importance of conservation and be pleased to hear that all marlin are returned to the sea after being caught - although you will have the chance to get your photo taken with your prize first.

It also pays to have somebody on board who knows where to go and what to look out for. With so many keen fishermen in the country, you aren't going to be heading out with an amateur if you book with a reputable charter company.

Even if you are not fortunate enough to come across a blue marlin, you can look forward to trying to reel in other big fish, such as the yellowfin tuna. These fish, which can weigh up to 225 lbs, are plentiful in the waters around Cozumel, as are the smaller skipjack and dog tooth tuna.

Practicing boat safety is a must. With your children on the boat, you must always remember that you are way away from the shore and that too in the deep sea. You must always be cautious and alert. Never let a kid fish for one of these big catches, they are not yet strong enough to win a battle against the huge game fish. Even when you are aiming for that spectacular marlin, see to it that your rod is securely anchored as well as you are attached to the boat in some way in case your rod gets free.
