Facts About Halal Certified Meals

By Stephanie Gray

The Islamic religion has always been so strict in so many things including food. For example, there are meals that Muslims cannot eat because they are considered to be unclean. The Sharia system is the one that governs the Muslims to have moral standards. The foods that these people take are supposed to go through a standard of measure to ensure that they are clean. When the foods have been tested, they can now be called Halal certified meals. Check out more things about this certification that you should know.

The Muslims consider taking the certified meals because they are certain that they do not contain any unclean ingredients and are suitable for eating. This is a rule that originates from the Sharia system in the Quran. It prohibits the Muslims from eating or using anything that is unclean. These rules have been there from generation to generation and are still applied today. For this reason, the food products should also be certified.

This is however still a topic of debate because some of the practices are creating issues among the people. For instance, the Muslim themselves have a disagreement about stunning meat. Some are asking whether slaughtering the animals after stunning them produces meat that is lawful to eat. This is the same thing that is happening with the certification of the foods because some people are not agreeing to this system.

The Halal foods are normally inspected using three different ways. The first one is the certification of individual products. When these products have been inspected and approved, the ingredients and production process becomes clean and lawful. Thus, you can buy items that have been inspected from a food store that also sells items that have not been tested.

The second form of certification involves the production facilities. Therefore, all the products that are produced in line with the certification standards can be considered to be lawful and clean. For instance, if butchery has been certified, the meat becomes lawful no matter the final shape. Nevertheless, the meat may end up in the market unlabelled. Thirdly, the retail facilities can also be approved. This makes all the foods in those facilities lawful.

It is critical to certify the foods in the Muslim community because this gives them a choice when they visit the market. Many foods are now being processed. Hence, it may not be that easy to differentiate between the foods that have been approved and the ones that are not.

Additionally, certification is paramount to the traders that have delved in the production and sale of foods. The Muslim community provides a very good market for the tested and approved foods all over the world. Therefore, traders that have delved in this trade can bet very lucrative profits in return.

The foods are usually approved in two main ways. They can be tested and approved overseas or locally by professionals that are qualified. Most of these professionals are found in Australia. Here, a number of Islamic bodies have joined hands with the agricultural sector and are now producing, certifying and exporting the foods.
